The families in this community walk about 2 miles each way each day to buy chicken for dinner.   The cost of this chicken is going up  and up and up.  SO------

With the help of the POWASSAN  Wesleyan Church in Canada we have started a project to help the community with this problem.  We now have a large chicken house complete with automatic water and feeder.  I will get the live chickens cheap at the egg producers where all wholesale chicken comes from, bring them to the mission in the  new cages purchased by the host church and the people can came and get their chicken at the mission.  We will charge what is necessary to pay for the chickens, food and loses.   In this country there is a law  -  egg producing chickens are allowed to live only 18 months and at that time the egg producers must remove the layers from production and sell for meat.  This is the source of chicken in this country.  All that remains is to find he best way to use the project for evangelistic teaching.

2 weeks before we started this project we had to pay 29 Pesos a pound for chicken live.  This week with this project and the ability to buy 100 chickens minimum from a producer we paid only 18 pesos per pound.  This will be a real blessing for the families here.  Thank you Jesus and the  Powassan Wesleyan Church in Canada.
